Privacy Policy

MODU is provided by Cairn Labs LLC. This is a short, plain description of how we handle information.

What we store

MODU stores the records a dojo enters into it: staff accounts, student records, and the family and parent contact details that go with them (for example names, email addresses, phone numbers, belts, attendance, and test and event sign-ups). The dojo decides what to enter and is responsible for having any consents needed from families, including for children's information.

Each dojo's data is kept apart from every other dojo, with its own database and file storage. Office staff sign in through Cloudflare Access, so only people the dojo approves can reach the office screens.

How we use it

We use a dojo's data only to provide and support the service. We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Payments

• Stripe handles our own billing: the dojo's MODU subscription. Card details are entered with Stripe and are not stored by MODU.
• Square handles the dojo's own payments from families. The dojo connects its own Square account; those payments and fees are between the dojo and Square.

Export and deletion

A dojo can ask us to export its data. When a dojo leaves, we export its data on request and may delete it afterwards.
